Is it fast to travel to Pattaya From Bangkok?

Yes and No, It depends entirely on where in Bangkok you are traveling from and the method of transport. If you are traveling from the east side of Bangkok or on the outer limits then yes, it can be fairly fast, if you avoid the typical city rush hour times. It takes approx 1.5 to 2 hours by car or bus. If you are on the west side or deeper within the city limits it will take longer.

Unfortunately not, our pickup service is defined around the central Pattaya Area but this guide should make it fairly easy to jump on an early bus or in a Grab Taxi.

Yes, typically if you get the correct early bus around 6 am it will get you to Pattaya within 2 hours. This will give you ample time to meet us by 8:30am for the dive trip. We typically return to port around 3pm approx meaning you can get any bus you like back to Bangkok before 10pm (last bus). This lets you enjoy dinner in Pattaya before your transit back. Alternatively, why not grab a hotel and enjoy the night here?

Get from Bangkok to Pattaya

BANGKOK TO PATTAYA BY BUS

Traveling from Bangkok to Pattaya by bus is by far the most convenient and cost-effective way to travel to Pattaya. It’s best to choose a 1st class Air-conditioned bus departing each hour from Bangkok which starts from 140 baht (USD 5) and usually takes 2 hours to arrive. There is a blue coach class for 20 baht cheaper but these can take much longer to arrive.   Departing from Ekamai is an easy point to embark from within Bangkok. But you can also join the bus services from Mo Chit.  Alternatively, if you can join the bus at Suvarnabhumi Airport (either from where you land or by BTS train from the city) it’s much faster as you are skipping the Bangkok traffic.

You will find Pattaya on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Bangkok to Pattaya is more or less 2 hours drive. from Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport about 1.5hrs and less than 1 hour’s drive from U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport

Whether you travel by Taxi car or personal car Bangkok-Chonburi-Pattaya Motorway, known as the 7 Highway is the fastest direct route. The 7 highway links directly to Bangkok’s Outer Ring Road (9 Highway) and since this section of road became tolled, the congestion is minimal. 

Driving with fuel 700 – 800THB Approx Plus 150thb to 300thb Tolls depending on area.

When flying to Pattaya you are arrive at Pattaya U-Tapao Airport (45mins outside the city)

U-Tapao Pattaya Airport is located 30km south of Pattaya and is a 20 – 45 45-minute drive away from Pattaya. (Depending on if you use the new toll road or the old road.) Opened as a small size International Airport in recent years for many Budget Airlines and International Flights.
