Where are the Dive Sites at Koh Rin?
Koh Rin offers multiple dive sites, each with unique features and marine life:
Koh Rin Bay: The main dive site, located in the northern bay, is well-protected from currents and offers a maximum depth of 18 meters. This site is ideal for a relaxing dive with stunning fish like Harlequin Sweetlips, red snappers, squirrelfish, and lionfish.
Koh Rin South: Known for its deeper reefs and drift diving opportunities, the south bay offers protection from northern winds. This area has a depth range of 5 to 18 meters and features a mix of hard and soft corals, whip corals, and a variety of marine life. There are Rock deep reef out crops spotted around the 18 – 25m range where Bamboo Sharks and Jenkins Whip Rays can be found.
North Rock (Hin Khao): This site has rocky outcrops encrusted with hard corals and offers excellent opportunities to spot baby sharks, eels, nudibranchs, pipefish, and razorfish. It has good diving down to 14 meters, with some deeper coral reefs extending to around 22 meters.
South Rock (Hin Ton Mai): Rarely visited, South Rock is a popular dive spot with a rich diversity of marine life, including sharks, moray eels, barracuda, and a variety of invertebrates. This site offers very good coral life down to 16 meters.
