Koh Sak, a small kidney-shaped island located just north of Koh Lan, is part of Pattaya’s near island cluster. The island offers three distinct dive sites: Koh Sak East, Koh Sak West, and Koh Sak Deep Reef. Its northern-facing bay provides protection from prevailing winds, ensuring calm and clear waters for most of the year, making it an excellent spot for divers of all levels. Where are the Dive Sites at Koh Sak?

Koh Sak features multiple dive sites, each with unique attractions and marine life:

  • Koh Sak East: Known for its drift diving opportunities and turtle spotting, this site offers a diverse underwater landscape. The east side around the corner from the bay is perfect for a leisurely drift dive.
  • Koh Sak West: This site can be divided into several sub-level dive sites:
    • The Cubes: An underwater artificial reef project.
    • Turtle Point: A popular spot for encountering hawksbill turtles.
    • The Deep Reef: Home to many rocks and soft corals, including a forest of whip corals.
    • The Submarine Run: A unique dive site with varied topography.

Koh Sak West Muck Diving and Deep Reef

Koh Sak’s vast sandy bays are excellent for muck diving, offering opportunities to discover rare and fascinating macro species.

  • Muck Diving: The bay area and sandy drop-offs are ideal for spotting seahorses, nudibranchs, and other macro life. You can also find Demon Stingers hiding in the sand here. These sites are perfect for divers who enjoy exploring for hidden treasures.
  • Deep Reef: Navigated to by experienced Pattaya Divers who know where to find it,  is highlighted by many rocks and soft corals, including a stunning forest of whip corals. The hard corals dominate the shallower areas, while the soft corals bloom in their full colors at around 18 meters depth. This area is home to a variety of marine life including Bamboo Sharks, Morays and sometimes cuttlefish and Giant Travali providing an exciting dive experience.
